The Anna's hummingbird is a medium-sized hummingbird with iridescent emerald feathers and sparkling rose-pink throats and heads. Native to the west coast of North America they are more like flying jewelry than birds! This very common hummingbird was named after Anna Masséna, Duchess of Rivoli. The oldest recorded Anna's Hummingbird was at least 8 years, 2 months old, when it was recaptured and re released during a banding operation in Arizona.
