Leonardo was born in the town of Vinci, Italy. His mastery in art, science and engineering have earned him a place among the most prolific geniuses of history. He was one of the most important artists and inventors of the Italian renaissance and truly a man ahead of his time. He is most famous for his achievements as a painter, however, he has also become known for his notebooks, in which he made drawings and notes on a variety of subjects, including anatomy, astronomy, botany, cartography, painting, and paleontology.
