This colorful art tie is richly printed with Georges Seurat's most popular painting, "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte" executed between 1884 and 1886. This iconic work features a number of Parisians at a park on the banks of the River Seine and is the 3rd painting he did of this scene. The first was a study done in 1884 followed by a 1884-1886 painting of the same scene with more subdued colors. Seurat is best known for his developing the painting technique Pointillism, a style of of painting in which small, distinct dots of color are applied in patterns to form an image.
